Optimal Nutrition - Jessica Simonis A passionate Nutritionist and busy mother of 3 fussy children, I am well aware of the challenges my clients face when trying to implement a healthy balanced diet.
The information is out there, but the message is evidently not getting through and I believe it is our job as nutritionists or fitness coaches, to supply our clients with clear information and tools necessary to make those inspiring changes to their health. Such a rewarding profession with such a simple but powerful message – Let Food be Thy Medicine!
This seminar targets the fitness professional aiming to better understand their clients’s nutritional needs in order to best help them achieve their health goals. The content highlights the importance of offering sound nutritional advice so that you can not only help the client achieve short terms goals, but to also help them prevent ill health in the future. By following these principles, and understanding individuality of your client, you can be confident that you are doing your best to promote health and wellbeing, and ensure success.

Numbers in both instructors who teach step, and participants who are step savvy, are declining. There are many factors that influence this trend. This workshop explores methods to help the step instructor redesign, redevelop, & better deliver step choreography that is suitable and achievable for today’s group fitness market, with the aim of reigniting freestyle step on our podiums. all levels.
K.I.S.S. Conditioning - Paul Thorne (Singapore) Keep It Seriously Simple! Using your own body weight as resistance, Paul takes you through his no-nonsense, hi intensity, fat burning conditioning class. Suitable for all levels.

FAB Freestyle - Jenny Harrison (Vic) Have you lost the WOW factor? Are you fed up with presenting the same choreography in your group exercise classes? Are you tired of instructing in a robotic fashion? It’s time to channel your creativity and get that spring in your feet, that smile on your face and that energy coursing through your body once again. FAB freestyle will take you step by step through a well-balanced, energy-packed routine which will inspire you to rediscover the fun that is freestyle.
Heartmoves - Amanda Doring (NSW) This master class is a low to moderate intensity exercise class designed to cater for people with Stable chronic conditions or anyone who hasn’t exercised before. The master class will take you through loads of new ideas that are fun and motivating to make your Heartmoves class appeal to any age. Amanda will also show you how to adapt each exercise in the class to a variety of conditions, including the seated options for each exercise. This will be followed by an information session about how to manage risks in your class with people with different conditions such as Multiple sclerosis, Heart disease, Stroke, Diabetes as well as time for questions about how you adapt your clients in to your class.

Core Foundations - Marietta Mehanni (Vic) Did you know that the pelvic floor was a core muscle? Did you know that 50% of women have a weaken pelvic floor? Traditionally pelvic floor exercises have been the domain of Pilates, mind body and yoga programs, but now that core training is part of most group exercises classes and personal training workouts, it is the responsibility of every fitness professional to have a working understanding of how the pelvic floor plays an integral role in the core.
This interactive session will combine anatomy with practical demonstrations and useful imagery to encourage activation of this unique muscle that is found in both men and women. Supported by the Continence Foundation of Australia, Pelvic Floor First Ambassador, Marietta Mehanni, will provide tips on how best to implement pelvic floor exercises into any fitness program or core workout. This session is for everyone
Active Older Adults - Stacey Dolliver (Tasmania) Group Exercise for Older Adults suitable for instructors teaching older adults and/or Heartmoves classes. Do you instruct older adults or participants with stable long term chronic health conditions? Stacey will take you through a session designed to help your participants to enhance their balance, build muscle strength and flexibility and relieve stiffness and pain. Comprehensive notes provided.
L PLATE PARTICIPANTS - Kirsty Pepper (Vic) This session caters for instructors seeking the best way to communicate to their beginners. Motivation, choreography, class design and delivery techniques are discussed to ensure that new participants can be integrated into a regular class, follow successfully and return regularly. Suitable for instructors both new and advanced but generally frustrated with those beginners that just ‘don’t listen’.

Boxing for Fitness – Under Rated & Under Promoted ! - Martin Howden & Lynne Colston (Vic) We know boxing classes are a sensational cardio workout but we need to advertise and deliver these classes so they have a greater appeal to our members of all skill and fitness levels. We need to change this perception and the best way to do it is by changing the way we advertise our classes and the format that we use in those classes. Classes need to be fun, informative, planned and run in a way that will be safe, hard work for those that want to work hard and fun for all those that come into the class (that includes the instructors)! In our session we will take you through class plans, techniques for safe and effective workouts and ways to get those gym members to come into your classes and keep coming in. At the end of our 90 minute session we expect you to come away with new ways to run your classes, some new class plans and ways to bring out the best in your participants without frightening them away. Get Ready, Stay Steady! - Rayanne Hutchins (Vic) Would you like to see your Older Adult’s strong and stable? Are you interested in training your older adults to improve balance and coordination for quality functional movement and falls prevention? Then this workshop is for you. Join Rayanne as she presents exercises and fun training options for keeping our older citizens strong and independent. Through this practical workshop you will explore new ideas and make use of various tools for challenging and strengthening your participant’s walking gait, standing strength, balance, and posture. Take these moves back to class and see your older adults’ confidence soar!
CORRECTIVE EXERCISE FOR OVERUSE SHOULDER INJURY - Stacey Saviane (Vic) Discover how Correct Exercise can be used to stabilise the shoulder joint and prevent injury. Become more aware of the influencing factors that make someone more predisposed to developing an overuse shoulder injury and ways in which you can then manage it effectively. Through this workshop not only develop a greater insight into the importance of corrective exercise but be intrigued in its ability to enhance posture and training results. Take away valuable rehabilitation exercises that you can use with your clients to help reduce the occurrence or reoccurrence of an overuse shoulder injury.
